MEANING
People are longing for meaning in their lives right now more than ever. So many people are hurting in the work world, physically, emotionally, mentally and especially at a soul level - some subtly and some not so subtly as physical ailments set in. We are doing the best we can, putting in time, making our money, pouring our precious life force into work that holds little if any meaning for us, in the pursuit of society's definition of success. We set goals and accomplish them. For what? In service to what? The bottom line? The illusion of security? So we feel drained and oddly compromised by the end of the work week, mustering what energy is left for some weekend family time. Our work buys us a little freedom and numbness on the weekends to keep our souls from commenting on the week's futility, taking vacations from our insignificance. Busy, busy, busy. Over-living outside of work to compensate for the sacrifice of our aliveness that drains away at work. No wonder the doctors are saying now that 80% of illness today is stress related.

"Every human has only one genuine vocation -- to find the way to themselves....Their task is to discover their own destiny -- not an arbitrary one -- and live it out wholly and resolutely within themselves. Everything else was only a would be existence, an attempt at evasion, a flight back to the ideals of the masses, conformity, and fear of one's own inwardness."

- Herman Hesse
We might even be good at it, considered successful, have a pretty good life, the admiration of our peers, raise some pretty good kids, have a loving relationship, a nice house, a cabin, volunteer in our communities and still at the end of our lives ask, "What has it all been for?" There are many people who are ignited by passion from the inside, connected with their reason for being, and are giving their gifts in service of what they divinely came to do in the world – living a life of meaning. Meaning is the natural consequence of the conscious knowledge that you are perfectly designed to do something here that matters to you, and aligning your efforts with that. Meaning is the vehicle for the next level of human evolution – we call it Life Mission – fulfilling your agreement with Spirit (or what ever word you use for "that which is more than you"). We all have a Life Mission that is unique to us, and is as individual as our fingerprint. It is available to all of us and accessible when we realize it is possible and it is time.
People seem to come to this realization in one of three ways. Some people have suspected or have always known they are here for a reason and just have not found the way to identify it yet. (The Way of the Heart is definitely a way!) Some people have suffered enough and hold out the tenuous hope that there must be more to life than this. (There is! And it is already inside you waiting to birth!) And some people "have it all" and yet have still identified a yearning hole inside that can not be filled by more striving and more stuff. (Only meaning fits there) So if you see yourself reflected in these words, explore the site, we offer you a grounded, do-able and practical and guaranteed Way to your unique meaning. It takes effort and support is available.

HARMONY
Harmony with each other and with the planet is a pre-requisite of humanity continuing to continue. The earth will be just fine. She has been through evolution's revolutions before. She will be fully healthy and beautiful again – it is just that we very well might not be around to see it. In the last 200 years we have come so far out of harmony with each other and the planet that our very existence is threatened. At last count, 2000 species are going extinct every year. Without humans around the estimate is that one species would become extinct every 5 years. In a backhanded way that is the good news because at least now we can really see and become conscious of the fact that we have been seriously out of Harmony, and can therefore consciously choose to come into alignment with Harmony.
To be in Harmony with something requires that you have knowledge of it. When you really know a thing, you naturally love it. And when you love it you can attune to it and come into harmony with it. When you have harmony with something you gain more knowledge of it. When you know a thing more intimately, you naturally love it. And when you love something you come into ever deeper harmony with it. See the pattern? This process is akin to an upward revolving spiral.
In many ways, much of humanity is now on a downward devolving spiral with respect to our relationships with each other and with the earth. We are approaching the time that will be our very last opportunity to choose to turn it around. To get off the spiral of ignorance/disrespect, which breeds fear/protectionism, which leads to malice/aggression and ever more ignorance. How much time we have left is hard to say. Many ancient wisdom traditions say 2011/2012 is it – crunch time. I don't know what the number is only that there is one.

"The landfill is full of things people could not
live without. Those things only looked satisfying."

-Unknown
HOPE
Humanity has come a long way. Individually, we have had tastes of the good, the true, and the beautiful in our lives. It is now time to focus our collective attention on these qualities and build resonance for them. What we focus our attention on expands in this world by virtue of being fed our life force (our attention, intention, thoughts, words, deeds, creativity etc.). The good news is that many more of us are doing what we came to do. Some of us already:
  • develop clean energy technologies
  • detoxify land and water with frequency technology
  • design innovative and cost effective energy efficient dwellings
  • work with politicians and leaders restoring awareness and integrity
  • work to restore the Divine Feminine within both men and women and in the world
  • are international peace builders
  • bring resources to where they are needed in the world to foster more equality
  • reduce the half-life of radioactive products from a thousand years+ to three weeks
  • prepare and serve a hot dog with such love and compassion in a way a hot dog has never been served to another human being before
It ALL matters, there is no such thing as a small action. Not any more.

"If your work isn't what you love,
then something isn't right."

- Talking Heads

Will we, collectively, wake up enough to recognize our longing for meaning and harmony and then take action on that longing? I think we can. Why? Here are a few of the many reasons:
  • Chaos theory shows us that a very small action can have huge effects - the proverbial flutter of a butterfly's wings on one continent being the precipitating force for a hurricane on another.
  • Because the Sufis say that for every person that finds and does their life mission, it opens the way for 10,000 more to find and do theirs.
  • The principles of morphic resonance and "The Hundredth Monkey Effect" shows us that if a very small percentage of us really "Get it" then the rest of us can just pluck it out of our collective field
  • Because Jesus said, "What we do not bring forth from within us will destroy us and what we bring forth from with in us will save us" – And I believe it will save us all.
  • Because I see direct evidence of the return of the Divine Feminine Principle and her qualities in the world.
  • Because it takes a very small number of committed people to change the world, indeed that is the only thing that ever has.
Are we up to the task?
I think we are.
Will we do it?
I don't know.
Personally, that is what I work for.
It is worth my life force to forward this vision in the world. This is what really matters to me, gives me more energy than it takes, brings me great joy, requires that all my gifts are given, and has precipitated a relationship with the Divine in my – all glorious side-effects of doing my Life Mission.
I hope you are here to change the world.
You always were.
We are the ones we have been waiting for.

"Alas for those that never sing,
but die with all their music still in them."

- Oliver Wendall Holmes

Top Ten Benefits of Finding and Doing Your Life Mission in "The Way of the Heart"
When you know, that you know, that you know why you are on the planet and what you came here to do, your life becomes infused with Meaning. And you can clearly see how all the events in your life – including the suffering and heartache, the teachers and way-showers that showed up when they did, and the support that has always been there (just not always seen to be there <grin>), have sculpted you for a very specific purpose. Not one thing has been wasted in your design.
It is said that when you die there will be someone waiting for you, and that person is YOU – specifically the highest possibility of who you could have become. So as to not to be "like totally embarrassed" <grin> when that moment arrives, the time is now to get on the path of your heart and your fastest evolution – YOUR LIFE MISSION. And here is why!
  1. You fulfill your agreement with Spirit – both top and bottom line.
  2. You are doing the thing you most delight, with the people who most inspire you, in the place that most enchants you, and in the way the world needs the most. (adapted from Richard Bolles)
  3. Your mission becomes your internal yardstick with which to discern the opportunities that are for you from the ones which just are not. In a world awash in opportunity, it is important to know that some opportunities will take you closer to accomplishing your mission and some will take you farther away.
  4. You have a strengthened immune system. An immune system's job is to discern what is me and what is not me, and if not me, then kill it. In this time of increasingly ultra–rapid information exchange, in this time of the blurring of the boundaries, your conscious knowledge of what is you and what is not you will aid your immune system in keeping you healthy. Also, people with ill health can significantly improve their physical health when they a have a profound heart-level reason to get better.
  5. You choose your destiny over fate. An age-old argument poses the question of whether it is fate or destiny that operates in the world. In my opinion - both do. Fate happens when you do not choose your destiny. Fate is about being at the mercy of the strongest intention of the moment because you do not have your own strongest intention. It is like being a leaf in the wind. Destiny, however, must be chosen. It is about consciously aligning your life force (thoughts, words, deeds, attention, intention, creativity etc.) with the stream of service in the way that only you can do it.
  6. You get to be a fully squeezed lemon! It is like we are all little lemons on God's lemon tree, and I don't know about you, but I want to be a fully squeezed lemon by the time I die! <grin> Doing your Life Mission will require everything you have to give, so by the time you die you will have given it all. The paradox is that 1) your Life Mission is totally about you, and also 2) it is totally about more than just you. Both are 100% true.
  7. Both meaning and love are yours. It is said that human beings really need only two things – 1) to know they are loved, and 2) that their life has meaning. When you set your first little toe on the path of your life mission and do it even just a little bit, you have a direct experience of both of these states.
  8. You will attract miracles. Some people choose to do their life mission as a vocation and make great money at it and some people do it as an avocation in their out-of-work hours. Either way, The Divine is on your side and things will come together that you could never have orchestrated on your own.
  9. You will be easier on the earth if you do your mission. Most people are not making "a living" at all in their work. They are making "a dying", and then they try to compensate for their dissatisfaction by buying satisfying things. Our landfills are full of things people thought would bring satisfaction. Those things only "look" satisfying. True satisfaction only comes from meaning.
  10. You get to wake up in the morning saying, "THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU GOD, I GET TO DO THIS AGAIN TODAY!" (and mean it!)
